  • Brandon - Portrait Session - Milwaukee Lakefront

Brandon just turned 30 and wanted to celebrate with a portrait session by the lakefront. He chose this location because he loves to spend time there in the summer. The only issue with this is that his birthday was in April and, unfortunately, we had to reschedule our shoot a few times before we found a bright, sunny day. (Wisconsin weather is so fickle, isn't it?)

But, I really love the fact that Brandon chose to do this! I think it's really important to document our lives, outside of the big classics: graduations and weddings. Think about some of your favorite photographs of your loved ones. Some of mine include an amazing photo of my mother as a young woman, posing adorably on a rock in Puerto Rico; another is of my young dad and some cousins working on a classic car.

Speaking of cars, Brandon wanted to incorporate his beautiful convertible into some of the shots.

Sometimes it's important to pause a moment and reflect on where we are NOW. Today. Stop and look back at how far we've come.

    Let's celebrate ourselves.

    Happy Birthday Brandon!

    Aletha-Milwaukee Headshots

My girl Aletha stopped by the studio for some headshots, with a bottle of #Casamigos #reposado as a donation to the #studio "photo juice" cabinet. Aletha started out in a black blazer but I'm delighted that we ended on this casual cool look with her #leather jacket!! Cheers, Aletha!!! #milwaukeephotographer #milwaukeeheadshot #blackandwhitephotography #blackandwhiteheadshot #tequilagirl

p.s. George Clooney is the man behind Casamigos tequila and there is an absolutely gorgeous portrait of him on their website. I mean, the lighting is impeccable!!

  • Danielle - Milwaukee Headshot

I had so much fun working with Danielle today! The moment she walked in I loved her sparkle and her energy. Danielle is graduating soon and also has a book deal on an amazing research project she's been working on, and is building a brand new website to go with it! It's an exciting time for her.

After the session Danielle and I ended up talking for an hour about a whole bunch of stuff,  and she got me newly fired up about my own book, and where I could take it.

Our conversation brought to mind the title of the Dr Seuss book, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" The sky is the limit, right Danielle?
